About Us

Parent University is a comprehensive, two-generational family engagement program based on research and best practices that began in February 2015 at the Learning Community Center of North Omaha. Parent University provides individualized and center-based support and services to families whose children are eligible to participate. The center-based learning was developed around four major areas: Parenting, Life Skills & Wellness, School Success, and Leadership. Under each major area, there are a variety of different courses parents can enroll in and learn from.

Parent University has offered over 80 courses to meet families’ needs. All courses fall under one of our four major pillars: Parenting, Life Skills & Wellness, School Success, and Leadership. All courses are free to our participants. Food, childcare, and transportation are offered. Courses are offered morning, afternoon, evenings, and weekends to best fit families’ schedules. If you have a course idea please let the staff know.
